He studied at George Washington School, San Ramón de Alajuela. He graduated in Plastic Arts with emphasis in Sculpture in the University of Costa Rica.
His work is exhibited in public sites and Costa Rican independent institutions such as: Instituto Nacional de Seguros, Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, Banco Central de Costa Rica, Museo de Arte Costarricense, Contraloría General de la República, among others. And in foreign countries, David Turner in USA, Hellen May, Guillermo y Adolfo del Cueto, Leonardo Niermann, Vicki Guindi, Alicia Short, in México; Venezuela and Nicaragua.
He created between 1991 and 1993 the Monument "Garantías Sociales"
In 1998 the Monument to Daniel Oduber Quirós.
In 1999 elaborated the Monument "La Familia".
In 2000: he made the Bust of Arnoldo Herrera, at the moment located in the Conservatory Castella, Costa Rica. The Bust of Priest Delio Arguedas, at the moment located in the School Santa Maria de Guadalupe. Heredia, Costa Rica. The Bust of Nicolás Ulloa, located at the moment in the Central base of Heredia, Costa Rica. Some of his prizes are:
• 1952: First Prize in Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, Universidad de Costa Rica.
• 1972: First Prize in Sculpture in the Expo Apse. Costa Rica
• 1975: First National Prize Aquileo J. Echeverría. Costa Rica
• 1979: First Prize Aquileo J. Echeverría. Costa Rica.
• 1987: Prize Ancora of the Newspaper La Nación.
He has participated in a great amount of exhibitions:
