This Nicaraguan artist (Rivas, 1977) lives in Costa Rica since 1997 and works mainly in oil and acrylic with the purpose of obtaining contrasts between the brightness and the opacity. He works in paintings on sizes from miniatures to 10 x 4 meters murals.

His works turn around the social legacy and can be described as colorful, versatile and with a noticeable definition of texture: "the most important thing for me to create sensations, because that communication is part of the art", assures Santana. His talent contains an inspiration of the following artists, which Norlan visits:  Fabio Herrera, Mario Maffioli, Pedro Arrieta, Vernos Lines.

His themes: the human emotions, the glory, the wrath, the love, the vanity, the poverty; in the nature: the trees, the sea and the sky. Also a represented autobiographical perspective in "autoretrato", work that opens the path between desire to do and the act completed by artistic vocation, very intimate work of the author.

Norlan has participated in 7 individual exhibitions and 15 collective exhibitions leaving its legacy in countries such as Spain, Germany, the United States and Canada. Some of these are:

The work of the Norlan artist Santana is filled with passion and contrasts that reflect in each outline, stain and color.

His creativity is more emotional than rational, and the artist found in the abstraction suitable ways to express him and simultaneously to seduce the spectator.

Unlike other emergent and successful artists, Santana puts his eyes in the subterranean, in the roots of the soul, in whatever is underneath his feet, discovering the deep and the mysterious characteristic from the place where the life from the seed is developed: in the dedication, in the study of the colors, the visual textures, and in the subliming of the altered senses that they have the true creators. - Ricardo Alfieri, Galerista.

Ochers transfer us to the Earth origin, the first color in it’s diverse states, dust, earth, mud, stone fused with coffees, brown, yellow and small details in red that are in synthesis in center of which tour all.

The artist tries to seduce the spectator by rays and flexible lines that connect the optics to a sequence of causes and effects, of estigmas in the middle of an all-conceptual one.

Ocher cities is a work that creates and recreates, allows to see it of different angles, projected in an interpretation more personal and free for the public.
